Create an Internet Identity

1. Go to Internet Identity Page

Prepare your personal phone and computer, go to https://identity.ic0.app/ and click on Create New

1. Create Passkey and Internet Identity Number

   • Follow the instructions to Create a Passkey and configure either a Passcode or Face Id if from the phone, or, alternatively, QR code scan with your phone or Touch Id from the computer.

   • Once completed, a new sequence of 7 numbers (Internet Identity number) will appear automatically. Copy it and save it in one or more safe places.

3- Add a Recovery Phrase

• Once you saved your Internet Identity number, scroll down the page and click on the add recovery method and click on Recovery Phrase. An automatic randomly created Seed Phrase of 24 words will appear.

• You will be then asked to enter 2/3 words from your seed phrase as a trial proving that you correctly stored the words.

🚨The internet identity number and seed phrase will be the only way to access your wallet/internet identity in case your phone or computer will be lost 🚨

Please copy and write down on papers/password manager both the Internet Identity digits number and the Seed Phrase and store them in one/or more safe places. We recommend having at least 2 locations for storing your seed phrase.

4 - Adding a new device

Once completed, you will be able to manage your internet identity. We always recommend adding another device for more safety. For that you can click on add a new device. You will have to configure your new device following the procedure similar to what you just did for the first Passkey.

5- Congrats! You have successfully created your Internet Identity!
